Why choose this programme?
Management today requires more than knowledge of a single business function. Managers need to understand financial performance, people, technology, strategy and the wider environment in which organisations operate.
The programme brings these areas together. Students examine financial and marketing decisions, organisational behaviour, information systems and economic processes, then build on this foundation through project management, strategic management and business ethics. The study plan also includes a period of professional practice and a master’s thesis.
The programme is taught in English and brings together students with varied academic and cultural backgrounds. Studying in Bratislava also gives students a chance to experience Slovakia’s capital and its central location in Europe.
Programme structure and study plan
The curriculum combines core management subjects, a chosen specialization, thesis preparation and professional practice.
During the first semester, students study Financial Management, Marketing Management and Organizational Behavior, alongside the first thesis practicum. In the second semester, the focus moves to Management Information Systems and Modeling of Economic Processes, with further thesis preparation.
The third semester develops students’ ability to lead and manage organisations through Project Management, Strategic Management and Business Ethics. Students continue work on their thesis through a practicum.
In the fourth semester, students complete professional practice lasting at least four weeks, continue their thesis work and defend their master’s thesis.
Choose a specialization
The programme’s study plan includes three specialization areas. Their availability and course offer may depend on the academic year and student enrolment.
Finance
The Finance specialization explores financial markets and the decisions that shape organisations’ financial performance. Courses in the study plan include Practical Financial Markets, Managerial Decision Making, Managerial Accounting, New Venture Strategy and Financing, Value Based Management and Entrepreneurial Risks at SMEs, and Investment Analysis.
Global Leadership
The Global Leadership specialization focuses on leadership development, organisational processes and working across professional and cultural settings. Courses in the study plan include Advanced Leadership Development, Business Process Management, Managerial Decision Making, Advanced Managerial Skills and Leadership Practice, and Corporate Diplomacy.
Marketing and Digital Services
This specialization connects marketing with digital business models, research and analytics. Its courses include Cloud Computing, E-Business and E-Marketing, Marketing Research, Knowledge Management, Business Analytics and Decision Making, and International Marketing.
Professional practice and thesis
The programme gives students the opportunity to connect academic study with professional experience. The study plan includes at least four weeks of practice in the final semester.
Thesis practica run through the programme and support students as they develop and complete their research. The final stage of study includes the defence of the master’s thesis.
Career opportunities
Graduates can pursue management and specialist roles across a range of organisations and industries.
