He completed his bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral studies in economics and management at the same faculty, specialising in strategic management at master’s level. His master’s thesis on Industry 4.0 received the Rector’s Award. His doctoral research examined intellectual capital management in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the extent to which it was applied in companies operating in Slovakia. During his studies, he completed several study visits abroad, including at the Universitat de Barcelona in Spain and the Universidad de Matanzas in Cuba. He further developed his professional and teaching competencies during his work at the department through training visits to France. He teaches Strategic Management, Business Process Management, and Strategic Thinking and Strategy at master’s level. He has experience teaching in both Slovak and English. His teaching approach actively engages students in solving case studies, working in teams and discussing current business challenges. Through these methods, he connects theoretical knowledge with the complexities of management practice and guides students in applying this knowledge to specific situations. He emphasises the development of analytical, critical and strategic thinking, independent reasoning, and the ability to formulate and defend well-grounded solutions of their own. He is a co-author of the book Business Process Management: Analysis, Modelling and Implementation, which is required reading for the Business Process Management course. He also has practical experience with ARIS Express, which is used in teaching this course. He plays a significant role in regularly updating the content of all the courses he teaches and has co-authored case studies used in the Strategic Management and Business Process Management courses.
His research focuses on current topics and trends in strategic and business process management, the digital transformation of businesses and the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies. He examines the use of smart technologies and artificial intelligence in business processes, businesses’ readiness to adopt them and the associated organisational changes. Building on these areas, he also investigates intellectual capital, its development and firms’ capacity for innovation. He has authored or co-authored scholarly works, including publications indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, and regularly presents his research findings at conferences in Slovakia and abroad. He is also a member of the Research Lab on Industry 4.0 and Management Transformation at the Department of Strategy and Entrepreneurship.
