Lukáš Copuš

Assoc. Prof. PhDr. Lukáš Copuš, PhD. is the head of the Department of Management at the Faculty of Management, Comenius University Bratislava, Slovakia, where he also studied. He obtained additional pedagogical qualifications at the University of Žilina, Slovakia. He attended several mobilities at foreign universities and educational institutions focused on the development of pedagogical, research, professional, and managerial skills – specifically in the Netherlands, Finland, Belgium, Slovenia, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Croatia, Czech Republic, Georgia, and Russia. He lectured at universities in Italy (Rome), France (Bordeaux), Lithuania (Kaunas), Cyprus (Nicosia), Romania (Timisoara), Poland (Warsaw, Krakow), and Czech Republic (Liberec). He is a member of the Scientific Council and the Academic Senate of the FMCU.

His research focuses on organizational behaviour and human resource management – particularly on organizational and national culture, motivation, employee behaviour role models, and topics related to Industry 4.0 and 5.0. He has participated in several research projects funded by the Slovak Research and Development Agency (APVV) and the Scientific Grant Agency (VEGA). Currently, he serves as the principal investigator of a VEGA project focused on the principles of Industry 5.0 from the perspective of organizational culture. He has reviewed and published research in renowned publishing houses such as Elsevier, Emerald, Springer, Sage, and De Gruyter.

He teaches the courses Management I and Management II (BA), Organizational Cultures – European Features (MA), and Management (PhD), both in Slovak and English. In the past, he also lectured courses Personnel Management (BA), and Differences in Organizational Systems in Practice (BA). He is involved in several study programs, including Management, International Management, Entrepreneurship, Managerial Mathematics, Sports Management and Management and Law, serving as co-guarantor of the last two.

He has consistently achieved above-average results in student evaluations of teaching quality. Drawing on his practical experience, he actively promotes a student-oriented approach, which he considers one of the key challenges for universities. In 2023, at the proposal of the dean of FMCU, he was awarded by the rector of Comenius University for his academic contributions.
