Prof. Ing. Natalia Kryvinska, PhD. is a Full Professor and the Director of the Center for Applied Research and Developments in Management (CARDiM) at the Faculty of Management, Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia. Prior, she served as the Head of the Information Systems Department in the same academic organization. She formerly held the positions of University Lecturer and Senior Researcher in the eBusiness Department at the University of Vienna’s School of Business Economics and Statistics. She obtained her Engineering degree from the National University Lviv Polytechnic in Lviv, Ukraine, a PhD in Electrical and IT Engineering from the Vienna University of Technology in Austria, and a Docent title (Habilitation) in Management Information Systems from Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia. She attained her professor title and was assigned to the Professorship by the President of the Slovak Republic.

Prof. Kryvinska is a researcher in information systems, service science, and digital transformation whose work examines how organizations design, implement, and govern data-intensive services. Her expertise spans enterprise modeling, value co-creation frameworks, and advanced decision-support architectures for complex business environments. A central focus of her work is the integration of artificial intelligence into service and organizational processes, including machine learning based optimization, intelligent service systems, AI supported process automation, and explainable AI approaches for decision quality and transparency.

In recent years, Prof. Kryvinska work has focused especially on the integration of AI and data-driven methods into service systems and organizational processes. Key directions include:

  • Intelligent service systems & digital twins - developing AI-enabled models and digital twin frameworks to simulate, optimize and assist business services in real time.
  • Machine-learning for decision support in organizations - designing hybrid systems that combine rule-based reasoning with machine-learning algorithms to support operational and strategic decisions in smart business networks.
  • Model-based enterprise and service architecture - investigating how modeling languages and service-oriented architectures can be extended with AI components to enhance flexibility, interoperability and automation in digital transformation initiatives.
  • Smart ecosystems & value-co-creation - analyzing how AI-enabled service platforms facilitate value-co-creation among stakeholders, especially in the context of Industry 4.0, smart cities and Internet-of-Things ecosystems.

She has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed articles, books, and edited volumes on service innovation, smart business ecosystems, and computational methods for managing digital enterprises. In addition to her research, she contributes to international academic networks, serves on editorial boards and program committees, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams exploring the organizational, technological, and societal impacts of AI-enabled service engineering. She is also actively engaged in international collaborative projects spanning Europe and beyond.
