The Center of Applied Research and Development in Management (CARDiM), an original name until 2014 - Center for Management Development and Applied Research, was established in 1995 as part of the CEHREI project supported by the Mellon Foundation in cooperation with Cornell University in the USA. The Center collaborated on solving many research tasks and educational projects such as VEGA, PECO, PHARE, TEMPUS and alike. One of the Center's activities was also an annual organization of a preparatory course for the admission interviews at the Faculty of Management, Comenius University to select high quality students for management studies.

Currently, the Center focuses on advancing management practices through applied research. It actively participates in projects, grants, and research tasks, implements new trends in applied research to address organizational challenges, and fosters collaboration between departments in scientific and project activities.
CARDiM is dedicated to fostering innovation, scientific excellence, and interdisciplinary collaboration across academic and research domains. It serves as a hub for advanced studies and applied research, integrating cutting-edge knowledge with real-world impact.

The Center promotes excellence in education, research, and professional development, supporting international projects, academic partnerships, and the implementation of innovative methods in science and management.
