Project summary
In the current business environment, the emphasis is on flexibility, innovation and the ability of companies to adapt to rapid changes. It is the knowledge of business processes and their improvement that create the base for development, innovation and more flexible reactions. Nowadays, companies are facing new influences and challenges, which are to a large extent connected to technological development and to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, known as Industry 4.0. Industry 4.0 is currently considered as a major driver of changes in the business environment. If organizations want to be successful in such a demanding environment, they need to react to new conditions and adapt their procedures and business processes. Applying business process management helps companies to adapt more quickly, and therefore, the focus of the project is on the examination of the readiness of companies to these challenges in terms of the application of new technologies of Industry 4.0 and to identify the connection of technologies to business processes and their effective management.
