How does a free license work?

To obtain the license, you must be an employee or a student of Comenius University in Bratislava with activated university e-mail address. The MS Office license is tied to the university e-mail. The license becomes inactive upon completion of the student's studies, resp. termination of employment in the case of an employee.

The following are entitled to the license:

employees with a valid contract / agreement,
full-time and part-time students who are duly enrolled in the year.

The following are not entitled to the license:

employees without a valid contract / agreement,
full-time and part-time students who have interrupted their studies,
full-time and part-time students who have completed their studies or have completed their studies by a state examination,
full-time and part-time students admitted to study but not yet enrolled,
full-time and part-time students who have duly completed the bachelor's degree are admitted to the master's degree but have not yet been enrolled for the master's degree.

Install Office 365 Pro Plus for Windows

Log in to Office 365 (instructions) and click "Install Office" in the top left and select "Office 365 Apps" as you can see on the picture below.

Then you will download the installation file, which you need to run by clicking it.

Wait for the installer to prepare the installation and install the applications. During this process, you need to be constantly connected to the Internet and not turn off your device. You can continue working on your device during the installation.

When the process is complete, the installer will notify you that the applications have been successfully installed. Click "Close" to continue.

From the start menu, simply find an application from the Office 365 Pro Plus suite, such as MS Excel, and open that application.

The first time you start one of the Office applications, a dialog box prompts you to sign in to your university account. Click "Continue" to activate.

Continue by accepting the terms of use.

In the application on the "Account" tab, you can easily see whether the activation was successful. This tab provides information about whether you are logged in to the application, which license you have active, and whether your Office product is activated.
