ENLIGHT 1st Global Engagement Module (5 ECTS)

Do you have a pioneering spirit? Do you want to take part in a brand-new and innovative European adventure? Then embark on the Global Engagement Module by ENLIGHT, a group of nine collaborating European universities. The module aims to lay the foundation for a global citizenship and career. In the development of the GEM programme, three out of the nine ENLIGHT partner universities are involved: Ghent (Belgium), Göttingen (Germany) and Groningen (the Netherlands).
Dates: summer semester, online: 1 March - 13 May 2022; on site part (Ghent, Göttingen, Groningen) 23-30 April 2022.
The 5 EC module will start with a group of 45 students in the Spring of 2022. They will be divided into three Learning Communities (LCs) of 15 students each, which will be split up into smaller teams of 5 later on. On the basis of gender, home university, disciplinary background and team roles, a mixed and heterogeneous group composition will be ensured, to create a diverse learning environment. There will be three challenges, each provided by a different university: Public Health (Groningen); Migration and Society (Ghent); and Climate Change (Göttingen).
Financing: Global Engagement Module will be financed as an Erasmus student short-term mobility – each participant will receive 70 euros per day for the first 14 days and 50 euros per each consequent day from the 15th day of travel. There is a chance to use Green travel advantages – extra 50 euros plus 2 additional travel days.
Application requirements: prospective participants are 3rd year bachelor students with a good command of English.
Selection criteria: please, prepare a one-page motivation letter and a CV. Extracurricular activities to be mentioned in the CV and are an important part of the selection criteria. Please, note that in case of a big number of applications, we may additionally require a reference letter from your department and your grade point average.
